The Nanotechnology Center for Biomedical and Energy-Driven Systems and Applications at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez (UPRM) incorporates 23 professors, 30 graduate and 30 undergraduate students. The Center’s transformative research focuses on fundamental and applied aspects of nanomaterials encompassing: (1) dispersed nanostructures for biomedical applications; (2) nanoporous materials for separations and catalysis; (3) nanoengineered composite materials for device and sensor applications; and (4) quantum dot systems for cancer therapy.
